We booked two weeks prior to our actual departure. Which gave me less time to prepare which blew our excitement to proportions. I'd read every travel blog or forums to make sure I don't miss out any important detail. Good thing there is a complete blow by blow detail in Pinoy Exchange. So I didn't actually land in Hong Kong as a complete noob, but I was still very much bano. he he
So allow me to narrow down 10 reasons why I want to marry Hong Kong, if Hong Kong was a person. No, make these 10 reasons why YOU should go to HK. Yes, I' manipulative like that. haha
1) Their MTR (their version of Lrt, and Mrt) is situated underwater! YES! Underwater! Although of course you won't notice it, but heck, it is sooo cool.
2) Shooooooopping. *eyes twinkling* Allot about 700HKD dollars for shopping, and trust me, you will go a long way. Especially if you shop in Mongkok area. Clothes that probably sell around 50HKD (PHP250) is considered expensive already. It's a must too that you visit Citygate Outlet mall, the home of all outlet stores. You don't have to worry about knock offs, all items are just dirt cheap and ORIGINAL! :) My personal favorite is probably H&M, and Cotton on shops, they go on sale like craaaaaazzzzyyy! Get shoes for only 100HKD (PHP500). Just the thought of it, makes me drool already. I always told my friends that If I died in Hong Kong, I'd die happy! hahaha!

3) The first and only Forever 21 in Hong Kong has 6 floors. NUFF SAID. Ride an MTR and go to Causeway Bay, the heaven of every girl, Forever 21, with 6 floors. You can buy jeans for as cheap as 80HKD, times five, around P400 duuuuude!
4) Street Food. I find it quite expensive compared to Isaw, Dugo, etc. Make sure you try them as they are very different from the street food here in the Phi. Just munch, and don't convert. Wish I could tell you what to try, but I forgot... Fine. I didn't even ask what it was, I just munched and munched and munched down to the very last bite :)
5) Authentic Chinese food in HK is mind-blowing. Although ordering food is quite a struggle because even with English captions they won't understand what the ef you are saying. Not unless of course they speak good english.
6) Whoever told you 4 days and 3 nights is enough time for you to roam HK, They are lying! I heard this lie before, and I regret it with tearful eyes! I should have booked myself for a week atleast! There is more adventure in HK outside its theme parks. I am yet to check Lantau Island and the beach when I get back! :-)
7) The night life in HK is orgasmic! Free flowing drinks for the ladies every thursdays, no entrance fee in bars, and well, a bunch of guys who seems like they have been taken out from a freakin Koreanovela! You just cannot go to Hong Kong, and not have a taste of their night life. Remember, go to Lan Kwai Fong, Central.
8) The peak. One must simply not miss the peak. It has the best view of Hong Kong. The high rise buildings and skyscrapers on one side, and the highs and peaks of its natural mountain landscape on the other.
9) Macau is just an hour away! Although they seem to be rubbing-elbows, but Hong Kong and Macau is very different, you just cant compare them. Very much alike, but still very different. Like, iced tea, and milk tea :) (This is my poor attempt to make a comparison)
10) Step up from the usual go to places in Hong Kong like theme parks, and get an actual feel of the city. Breathe in the city, and engage yourself in an entirely new culture. Their discipline is highly plausible some of which I actually took home with me.
