Less than 24 hours ago, I booked myself with 2 other friends to Cebu quite impulsively. The piso fare promo is way too tempting I just had to give in. Gaaahh, only to wake up the next day to a zero fare promo. Nice. Way to go, you crazy twisted fate! However, P1100 rountrip tickets to Cebu isn't bad at all, not bad at all. So I stopped being regretful and sorry before it kills all the excitement. Thus, I began my thorough research, to make sure I don't miss any must-go-to-places, and scrimp everything in our 5 day trip! :) It is one of my many itchy feet moments where I have to read every frickin travel blog in the internet. It is only now too that I'll get to enjoy the perks of my business,HOTEL DISCOUNTS, AND FREEBIES! :-) Woooohooo! :) *virtual happy dance*
As much as I'm excited about my trip to Boracay , Cebu, Bangkok and Cambodia I cannot bring myself to worry about the bills that is due before the month end. Reality finally sinks in. My Boracay trip is just a month away, and my body fat bank account hasn't even recovered from my previous trip.
But how can I complain? God continues to bless me with bookings that pays for my bills, and I just have to save whats left for my trip. I then realized, I am lucky for being able to pay for my own trips, from my thinning wallet, and my poor bank account. The journey does not lie alone in the trip alone, but in working, and saving for it. It means less shopping, no eat outs, less gym days (hu hu), and more car-less days! I just have to be more cautious with my spending, and hopefully I'll save enough for my trips.
I might need a cozy spot in our tiny home, with my 3in1 coffee, rather than patronize overpriced coffee. I will have to consider more ways to cut down my expenses too, like considering traveling backpackers style than flashpacking. Being the highly manipulative friend that I am, I will influence friends to join the backpacking bandwagon. Imagine if I invite friends to join me in my travels and they can't get a decent shut eye in a hostel.
There are many things I have yet to try. Like, be good friends with a local. I want to try being chatty with other tourists too, what on earth brought them to (insert name of place), What kind of tourist are they? Solo Travelers are the most interesting kind to me and I can't to wait to meet my first solo traveler friend. I want to get a better feel of the city, how is it like for the locals. I want my trips to be highly engaging rather than a fancy photo shoot. Many questions are in line waiting to be answered in the next adventure of the wandering dork, or shall I change it to backpackingdork? Hm. That would make a sounding title too! he he
Let's do this backpackers style! :)
