You can reach Misibis Bay by flying to Legazpi, Albay. It's a 40 minute flight, and 45 minute drive to the hotel. While the flight was uneventful, the latter was a visual buffet, enough to create an eyegasm!!! The lush greenery, the peaks of natural landscape, and the majestic Mayon, got my eyes glued to the beautiful scenery of Bicol like a giddy kid on a fieldtrip. The bridges were breathtaking, as the view of the pacific ocean was splendid. My ooohss and aahhhs were innumerably genuine drooling after every tourist spot.
After less than 2 hours of travel,we finally reached Misibis Bay at Cagraray Island. We were welcomed with delish welcome drinks, the local ibalong dance, warm smiles, and cooling towels.
Before things got worse, I celebrated my vacation over sinful breakfast buffet. I am NOT a breakfast person, I skip it without struggle everyday. But at the sight of all this gastronomic eye candy, I was one hungry monster. I simply ate my way out of my depression. From the main course, the salad bar, to the fruit buffet, designing your own omelette, and pancakes too! I love it too much, I can make a separate post the breakfast buffet alone. But like I told you, I don't make a good food blogger because I am often at lost for the perfect adjective with how (..............wait for it) distinctively tasteful one meal is to another. The rain soon poured, but heck, I was still in breakfast cloud 9!!!
Although I don't like blueberry very much, I still topped it with my pancake since I can generously design my pancake the way I want it. My pancake had an avalanche of maple syrup, chocolate chip cookies, blueberry, and butter.
After the glutton the golf cart toured us to the ecopark where the famed amphitheater is. I must say, no picture can give justice as to how freakishly breathtaking the view is. WOW. The panorama setting of my old beloved camera could have done more to capture this spectacular view. The greenery contrasted perfectly with the blue lagoon bewildering the naked eye.
Just recently, I felt the thirst for adrenaline rush. Considering sky diving, swimming with the sharks, cliff diving, wakeboarding, exotic food, etc. But before I get there, I decided to take baby steps before fainting to death before jumping off the cliff. I decided to do my first zip line in Bicol! I was all like "Sus. That's chicken! Nobody died from zip lining! It's not even buwis buhay!" But when I asked how long the zip line was, and he replied "350m and 200m long" Since I had no idea how far it actually is, asked how far above ground?, he answered "200m". My eyes grew big like a tarsier and felt a cringe of hesitation. But since I was wearing the same gear with Zac Efron, I went on. I climbed up the platform, and saw how steep it was. But, I conquered it, and realized it wasn't as scary as it seemed. It was overlooking the pacific ocean, it was delighting to know that I have finally conquered my fear of heights here in Misibis Bay! *dorky happy dance*
After the zip line, I tried the Hobie Cat sailing which was so much fun than I thought! Yea, as seen on pictures below, I tried it alone, but it wasn't anything short of amaaaaazing! :-) I couldn't help but wish though to have shared this experience with my family. My Dad, my brothers, and my sisters would have enjoyed it too! There were far too many things too try, it's very hard not to enjoy Misibis Bay! As boring moments are rare, and most of which are splendid enjoying the view with awe and amazement.
I made friends with the staff who were in charge with the recreational activities, so it was fun trying them all despite falling over hundred of times often face first to the water. ha ha ha. Good thing there weren't a lot of people in the area, so I seemed a notch lower than stupid trying wind surfing. Teehee.
Indeed, the worse found its way. The rain started to pour, so we failed to snorkle. :/
So here are snippets of Misibis Bay! :-)
We got our deal from Citibank for only P15, 000 good for two, for 3 days and 2 nights accommodation inclusive of airport transfers, the royal treatment, use of non motorized facilities, and ze zip line. Not bad, not bad at all! It was worth it down the very last buck! Now if you're not convinced yet, wait for my next entry with how we were treated as royals in Misibis Bay!
If ever I get the chance to go there, I will seriously step into that amphitheater, sing my lungs out, and feel like a diva on Broadway. It's just so gorgeous! :D
